Having a 3-Day before the 10-day course

Description

Firstly of course we need to get the dates and the cost from Roosta for the next course. If those are suitable then perhaps we could think about having a 3-Day course before the next 10-Day as we discussed with Gerrit after the 1-day in Tallinn.

PROs:
+ There are probably old students who will not have 10 days for a full course so this is a great opportunity for them to still sit or serve.

+ There will probably be less students so less pressure in the beginning. By the time the 10-day starts we will probably be more comfortable. We can also test out the changed conditions (new Dhamma hall, different dining hall setup etc). Gives time to change things for the 10-day if necessary.

+ There might be a few servers who would like to serve both the courses. This means there will be experiences servers for the 10-day which could be very fortunate since we will probably have A LOT of students for the main course.

+ Old students can sit the 3-day and serve the 10-day or vice versa. Good opportunity to be able to both sit and serve.

+ The 3-day can charge up the new Dhamma Hall for the 10-day course.

CONs:
+ There will probably be less students for the 3-day so that means less Dana for probably the same site cost. Maybe way less students? Since we only have had one 10-day in Estonia we do not have a strong old student community yet.

+ Probably the same ATs will need to stay for both courses. Will they have time?

+ Roosta will have to agree to have us for a longer period.

+ Can the main organisers (us) take enough time off to be there for both the courses?

What are your thoughts?

The price we got from Roosta was waaaay too expensive.

Other option is to have it in another location at another time. Will keep our eyes and ears open to see if some suitable location pops up.

btw, 3-Day courses can only be conducted by ATs and cannot be self-courses.

Note: See TracTickets for help on using tickets.
